Billing FAQ

When will I be charged?

Recess offers a variety of billing schedules to accommodate the diverse needs of our customers:

  • One-Time Events and Limited Run Series: Require full payment at the time of registration.

  • Ongoing Recurring Events:

    • Weekly Billing: Charges occur every Sunday morning for the upcoming week's class. The first charge happens immediately upon signing up, with subsequent charges on each following Sunday.

    • Monthly Billing: Occurs on the same date each month, starting from the date you initially signed up.

  • Free Trials: Certain courses may offer a free trial period, with billing commencing at the trial's conclusion.

Weekly Billing Examples:

  • Example A: If you sign up on Tuesday for a cohort that starts on Thursday, you are charged immediately for the upcoming week. Your next charge will be on the following Sunday, covering the week after next.

  • Example B: When you sign up on a Friday for a cohort starting on Monday, you're charged immediately for the first week. The first Sunday after your signup will not incur a charge, as your initial payment covers this period. Your subsequent charge occurs on the second Sunday after your signup, ensuring your payment aligns with the week's classes starting from that Monday.

Refund Policy

Subscription Cancellation

  • For Weekly and Monthly Plans: Canceling your subscription will end it at the close of the current billing period, with your child retaining access to events until then.

Partial Refunds for Missed Classes

  • If your child is unable to attend an event and you prefer not to lose your spot in the class, we offer a 50% refund for the missed class in the form of a credit towards future class purchases. Notification must be provided at least 48 hours in advance of the absence. Refunds will be processed within 7 days of the missed class.

Prepaid Events Cancellation

  • Full refunds are available for cancellations made up to 48 hours in advance for both one-time events and limited run series.

Instructor-Related Refunds

  • Full refunds are issued for classes canceled by instructors before the first meeting. If an instructor misses a one-time class, parents may opt for a full refund or to have the class rescheduled. Should an instructor change the class date or time before starting, parents are entitled to a full refund upon request.

Prorated Refunds

Prorated refunds are available under specific conditions, facilitated through our Support Team:

  • Partial Rescheduling: A prorated refund, based on the number of meetings rescheduled and not attended, is available upon request.

  • Unfulfilled Class Meetings: A prorated refund is provided if the instructor does not hold the advertised number of meetings.

  • Instructor Cancels In-progress Class: A prorated refund is calculated based on the percentage of meetings paid for that were canceled.

Changing Cohorts

Changes between course cohorts are permitted based on availability and with the instructor's approval, at no cost.
